on the link button at the bottom to register for the Congress.

HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration should be made through the congress website www.iucr2011madrid.es, by filling the Registration & Accommodation on line form. Exceptionally, if you face any problem in sending your registration on-line, please contact the Technical Secretariat ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. **In order to benefit from the early bird registration fee, payment must be made before May 31st, 2011. Otherwise the full late registration fee will be applied.

    • One ticket for free public transport,valid for 7 consecutive days during the period of August 22nd to August 30th.
  • Accompanying persons:
    • Welcome reception on Monday, August 22nd, 2011.
    • Half day city tour to Madrid, on Thursday, August 25th, 2011.
    • Cultural Activity.
    • Reduced fee for the congress dinner (40 €).
    • One ticket for free public transport, valid for 7 consecutive days during the period of August 22nd to August 30th.

METHOD OF PAYMENT:
  • All payments must be made in Euros (€) by credit card. Otherwise, bank transfer will be accepted in Euros.
    • Credit Card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. The organization strongly recommends using the credit card payment. (There are some credit cards whose local financial Supplier does not allow on-line transactions through a Sermepa virtual tpv (Servired Spain). If this is your situation please ask your bank for authorization or send a fax to number 0034 913 023 926 with credit card information: Number, holder, expiry date control digits (at the back of the card), so that we can use a tpv machine).

      If you Intend to pay by credit card, before registering, please check with your bank first and make sure that your credit card is authorized to make International payments by Internet, because sometimes for security reasons banks deny charges and payments do not go through.

  • Please do not forget to include the following reference in the bank transfer “IUCR 2011 REGISTRATION FEE”, as well as the name of the participant.
  • All bank charges incurred will be borne by the payee.
  • Participants must send by fax or email, a copy of the receipt of the bank transfer to the technical secretariat within 5 working days. Otherwise registration and all other services required will not be confirmed.
  • No confirmation will be sent until the technical secretariat has received the full payment.
  • Any difference arising in the payments will be collected on site by the technical secretariat.
  • In the case that registration funds are wired late or for unexpected reasons, are not credited to the congress account at the time of registration, the original bank receipt will be required. If no proof of payment can be presented, full payment will be required on site.
  • Additional requests made after August 10th, 2011 will be processed on site.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Any name change will be treated as a cancellation and a new registration will be made.
  • Cancellations made before May 15th, 2011 will have full refund minus 50 € for handling fees.
  • Cancellations made between May 16th and June 30th, 2011 will be refunded 50% of total amount of registration.
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations made after July 1st, 2011 or registered participants who fail to attend.
  • Corresponding refunds will be made from September 1st, 2011 onwards.

ACCOMMODATION CANCELLATON POLICY:

  • Any name change will be treated as a cancellation and a new booking will be made.
  • Cancellations made before May 15th, 2011 will have full refund minus 50 € for handling fees.
  • Cancellations made between May 16th and June 30th, 2011 will be charged with first night penalty.
  • Cancellations made between July 1st, 2011 and August 1st, 2011, will be charged with 50% of the total amount of hotel reservation.
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations received after August 1st, 2011, or confirmed rooms for participants who fail to attend.
  • In case of no-show the hotel will automatically cancel the room at 9 am of the following day and will make no reimbursement.
  • Corresponding refunds will be made from September 1st, 2011 onwards.

CONGRESS DINNER & TOURS CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Minimum of 30 participants is required. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the tour could be cancelled and registered participants will be refunded or offered an alternative tour.
  • The language used in all tours will be English.
  • Tours are subject to change due to local fairs and museum schedules.
  • Cancellations made before June 1st, 2011, will have full refund minus 20 € for handling fees.
  • Cancellations made between June 1st and August 1st, 2011, will be charged with 50% of the total amount of the reserved tours.
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations received after August 1st, 2011.
  • Any other request made after August 10th, 2011 will be processed on site.
  • Corresponding refunds will be made from September 1st, 2011 onwards.
VISA
The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation establishes some requirements for entry into Spain for a stay not exceeding ninety days in any six month period.  Further information regarding these requirements and as well as the Visa issues can be found through this link and/or directly through the Spanish Embassies or Consulates whose addresses can be found through this link.

Official date for extended Abstract submission closed on May 4. June 15: Deadline for registration and payment of accepted MS oral and Posters presentations. On June 16th non-registered ones will be removed from the program.
