Microsymposia
Each talk will be 25 minutes long plus 5 minutes for open discussion.
Files for presentation at IUCr Conference must be prepared using Power Point or Adobe Acrobat format.
Computers in conference rooms are equipped with Windows 7 32 bits and Microsoft Office 2007 package, therefore it is strongly recommended to avoid presentations in Power Point 2010 or Corel Show. Last version of Acrobat Reader will be available at the Conference.
If your presentation features fonts other than those included in the standard Microsoft Office 2007 package, you are kindly requested to include the ttf files, which will be installed in the data base of the PC in the conference room.
Files must be handed-in at San José preview room, ONE DAY AHEAD OF PRESENTATION. Author should attend in person, and will be able to test his/her presentation in the preview room PC’s, that are replicated to PC’s in the conference rooms. File testing and short editing will be available. Our technicians will collect the presentations and deliver them to the assigned conference room.
If you are using Mac, please check compatibility with Microsoft Office 2007 package. It is highly recommended to preview this file in a PC holding the mentioned features before arriving to the Conference. Please avoid files prepared using Mac KeyNote and use Office 2004 to produce the PowerPoint files. Speakers coming with MAC KeyNote files must bring their own Mac and their own adapter, and must show-up in the IUCr preview room (San José meeting room) ONE DAY AHEAD OF THEIR PRESENTATION AT THE CONFERENCE, to check the installation.
Videos included or linked to a power point, must be handed-in together and at the same time as the power point. This way we will be able to test them at the preview room and linked them once again if necessary before taking them to the conference room.
Videos handed in as an independent file must be coded under standard codec. Users are recommended to preview them in Universal software, such as VLC Player or Quicktime.
